Volkswagen Scirocco is one of the most popular cars at the moment and a lot of car tuners would like to modify this ride. After Oettinger and ABT, another well known tuning company that made a special tuning kit for Scirocco is Rieger. Their body kit is made from new front and rear bumpers, a small rear roof spoiler and side skirts. Rieger decided to make this car a bit extreme and installed Lambo doors which will surely turn a lot of heads when the one driving gets out of the car. Also, the car has new lower springs, 19″ or 20″ rims painted in the same color as the car and quad exhaust pipes.

The plan includes the possible sale of Saab, killing Saturn and scaling back Pontiac, as well as reducing dealers and shedding more workers, among other things. Here are a few solutions that GM presented :

• Focus on “core brands”: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac
• Launch predominately high mileage, energy-efficient cars and crossovers
• Sell Saab, HUMMER
• Sell or kill Saturn
• Reduce Pontiac to a “niche” brand
• Trim dealerships from 6,450 to 4,700
• Reopen talks with UAW to cut manufacturing costs further
• Reduce total workforce from 96,000 to 65-75,000
• Negotiate with lenders, remove $35.6 billion in debt

To do all this, GM is asking for a total of $18 billion in loans ($12 billion by the end of next March to make it through the rest of 2009 and another $6 billion if conditions don’t begin to improve by then).
The automaker stated that it needs $4 billion by the end of this month to continue operating and intends to start repaying the loans by 2011.

What happends before 2011? Well,according to a news release, Ford expects global and North American auto businesses to reach break-even or be profitable on a pretax basis. In May, Ford abandoned a previous pledge to post a profit in 2009. The automaker has lost money every year since 2005.

Ford also said it is asking Congress for access to as much as $9 billion in federal loans. The company stressed that management hopes to complete its turnaround without accessing the loans.

“For Ford, government loans would serve as a critical backstop or safeguard against worsening conditions as we drive transformational change in our company,” Ford CEO Alan Mulally said in the release.

Mulally, Ford’s CEO, said he would work for a salary of $1 a year if Ford draws money from a potential federal loan pool. Ford also said today that it would sell its five jets.

Mini Cooper S is a sportier version of the old Mini Cooper with a new engine and a stiffer suspension. The car can’t reach incredible speeds but for it can accelerate really fast and it’s great handling makes it one of the most easy and fun to drive cars. People used to say that Mini Cooper “handles like a go-cart” and we think it’s easier to park than a motorcycle. The guys from Prior Design made a special styling kit for this tiny car which makes it look more aggressive. The new body kit is made from new front and rear spoilers, wide side skirts and the car also received new rims equipped with wide tires and a lovely body paint.

The reports should go out tomorrow when General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC also must submit their turnaround plans to Congress to be considered for $25 billion in government loans.

“The domestics are effectively already out of business, particularly GM,” said John Casesa, an analyst at Casesa Shapiro Group LLC in New York. “The combination of the economy and all the news on their problems just stopped them dead.”

According to Edmunds.com and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. Deutsche Bank GM is projected to report a drop of 28-42 percent, Ford will record a 33 percent decrease while Chrysler was down more than 40 percent.

At Honda Motor Co., Executive Vice President Koichi Kondo said U.S. auto demand looked “bad” again in November. He reinforced analysts’ forecasts that Honda’s decline would be only slightly narrower than the 28 percent drop posted in October.
